El Dorado is my dad's favorite place to eat Mexican food. The restaurant serves your standard Mexican food favorites in an authentic-style atmosphere.
While I do find myself eating here fairly often (including tonight) with my father, I've also ended up here on many a dining occasion out with friends. The restaurant has daily alcohol specials (tonight was $6 pitchers of beer) and entrees start at around $7 so it's a place that even your friends who are living on a budget can make it out for.
If you're traveling with friends rather than family the restaurant has a bar section where you can drink a few and have dinner. On a few occasions when I've been here they've also appeared to be offering kareoke or some sort of open mic event, although I'm not exactly sure what the schedule for that is.
The news and observer also prints coupons once a week or so for buy one get one free meals during the week, making the place even more of a bargain.
Definitely worth a trip if you love authentic Mexican.
